How many consultants does it take to build a site? Probably more than one.  A modern customer may want aCMS, eCommerce,  maybe some custom database programming work, and some “special effects”.

Systems Consulting can be a lonely business – If you have a new gig but you don’t have all the expertise needed, how can you find the right people to partner with?  StarForum aims to create an intelligent web of interrelated resources to get projects moving and relationships forged.

If you are a solo freelancer you know how easy it is to lose focus on your highest priority (current customers) and try to do everything yourself.   Especially since this internet stuff is getting so interesting now!  For decades programming has been thankless and difficult grunt work.  With the advent of high-quality CMS systems. 4th and 5th generation programming frameworks, and standardized multimedia, a rich user experience can be provided much more easily.

For the moment StarForum adopts a few the quaint notions to limit its scope:

Seeing people face-to-face is important => Not too far from Santa Fe

Smaller is better => Small Firms less than about 7

Open Source is the wave of the future => Linux, PHP and javascript frameworks

It is not the only wave of the future => Adobe

Partners work in one of these areas:

Web Design,

Web Development,

Hosting, Hardware and Systems Support, or

Marketing and Web Presence.
